The disappointment is always painful. Even if you have recovered from childhood disappointments quickly, you may not recover from other Adults too quick. Adult disappointments – a lack of promotional things, teenagers on drugs, a divorce is pending – are serious. Rebound disappointments as they take time and effort. Where to start?

Think positively. When you are disappointed, it is easy to slip into all-or-not thinking nothing. "David D. Burns, MD describes this thinking in his bestseller," Feeling Good. "According to Burns," All or Nothing Thinking "is a deformation Mental and you tend to see things in "black-or-white categories." A small drop can make you feel like a failure.

You not a failure, you are surmounted by a disappointment. The good news is that you can activate "all-or-not to think" around. When you have a negative thinking, such as "I could have done more," Burns said that you replace with a positive balance. Your positive thinking may be "I worked hard and did my best. "Thought by thought, you get your mind back on a positive path.

KNOW YOUR STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. Daniel Goleman, author of "Working With Emotional Intelligence, thinks that we should see realistically to move forward. We must in the success or failure moments in our lives, says Goleman, and people who do know their strengths and weaknesses. These people learn experience, are open to new ideas, to continue to learn and grow, and can laugh at themselves.

So look for the laughter in the darkness your disappointment. The laughter is energizing and, after receiving a laugh, think about your strengths and weaknesses. A former employer and members Family can help. Put your strengths on paper and how they could work to your advantage. This process moves your thinking from the past into the future.

DO A little introspection. Business owner and author Harvey Mackay ( "Swim with the Sharks") sees the disappointment as an opportunity for introspection. This soul-sourching may lead to better things. In his article, "The disappointment is Opportunity in Disguise," Mackay said that can not let the disappointment take the path of progress. "It is time to stop being disappointed and recognize that you may have to spend to another lily pad, "he writes. You may want to hone your skills to get there.

Get new skills. New skills lead to new things and illustrious history of this Barbara. Barbara, an engineer and production specialist, had worked in a small business manufacturing just over a year when it was reduced. Many other employees have been reduced with it. The layoffs occurred after the parent company (in another country) have a very big account away from the subsidiary and its profits have fallen. Because a foreign country was involved Barbara qualified for NAFTA funding. She used these funds to pay for his MBA. Today, Barbara is a production supervisor for a company Manufacturing enormous.

You can go from disappointment. Get new skills, do some introspection about its strengths and weaknesses, and learn to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts. Life has many disappointments and these measures will help you to handle.
